Brown Pelican

Common along the coast of Florida the Brown Pelican has a wing span of 79" and weighs 8.2 lbs on average. They feed on small fish captured in spectacular dives from high above the water. Roosting on mangrove islands, pilings, and sandbars makes for great photos - not to mention the nesting season when nest building and pelican chicks are posing for the camera.
